Summary of terms of conditions
Users:
Khipu may be used by both individuals and legal entities. • For legal entities, the user must be a natural person duly authorized to accept the terms on behalf of the entity. They must use a valid email to receive payment receipts or important messages from Khipu. Registration is required to collect funds, but not for making payments through Khipu. • For individuals, there are no restrictions beyond the technical requirements.
Technical requirements:
To use Khipu, users need: • A personal computer (Windows, Mac OS, or Linux) with Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Safari—or a tablet or smartphone with Android or iOS; • Internet access; • A personal email address; • A Chilean bank account (checking or sight account) authorized for electronic transfers.
Commission:
Service pricing is defined in the Specific Conditions annex of the Collection Mandate contract and its amendments. Khipu may modify prices and terms as allowed.
User registration:
Anyone wishing to use Khipu’s collection, customer support, and transaction history services must be properly registered with Khipu.
Support:
Any user can contact Khipu’s support team via the Support and Suggestions section at the bottom of all web pages.
Territory:
Khipu operates within the national banking system, enabling payment and receipt of funds via simplified electronic bank transfers.
Exclusive mandate:
Khipu may only be authorized to collect and disburse money for pre-agreed transactions. Khipu is not involved in the contractual agreements or conditions between payer and payee, nor may it use funds for any other purpose.
Termination of collector contract and deletion of collection operations:
Users can delete their user record, collector record, and/or collection operations. All active collections at deletion will be suspended and deletion takes effect the next day, once funds from pending mandates are settled.
Lawful transactions:
By using Khipu, users agree that all transactions will be lawful. Users acknowledge that collection operations may become public or subject to legal authorities, and are responsible for not disclosing information that violates laws.
Disputes:
Any dispute between payer and payee must be resolved directly between the parties; Khipu will not be involved.
Suspension of payment processes:
Users may suspend a payment before authorizing the transfer. Once authorized, refunds must be requested from the recipient. Khipu may suspend transactions (temporarily or permanently) based on justified reasons or user reports.
Cookies:
Khipu’s platform uses cookies for tracking; by using the site, users acknowledge and accept this.
Authorizations:
Users authorize Khipu (and trusted third parties like banks and ISPs) to perform only the necessary functions to provide the service. Khipu is not responsible for illicit acts by third parties.
